Like its big brother, the Little Kaap once served as a sea mark
The Kaap was intended to show sailors the way to the Westeremstonne. At 11.7 metres high, it is quite a bit smaller than the Great Kaap, which is 650 metres away. If you would like to visit the smaller version, you can walk past the Hotel Hohenzollern on the upper promenade and see it from afar. Unfortunately, there is no direct route to the Kaap but there is an information board at the connecting path "Hotel Das Miramar" and the car park at Engel'se Pad that has all the important information you need. Incidentally, both Kaaps were paid for from reparations paid by France to Germany after the Franco-Prussian War.
